Terms of Use

1. The service

Khata Zone is a cloud-based GST billing, accounting and inventory platform for businesses. We may add, change or remove features from time to time to improve the service.

2. Eligibility & account

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Subscriptions & billing

• The service is offered on a free trial and paid subscription basis. Plan features, limits and prices are shown at the time of purchase.
• Paid subscriptions are billed in advance for the chosen period and are non-transferable.
• We may revise pricing; changes apply to renewals after prior notice.
• Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our Refund Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent or infringing purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts or our systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
• Reverse engineer, resell or misuse the service except as permitted by these Terms.

5. Your data & content

You retain ownership of the data and content you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and display that data solely to provide the service. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your data, including compliance with applicable tax and accounting laws. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

6. Intellectual property

The platform, its software, design, branding and content (excluding your data) are owned by Awani Enterprises and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or other intellectual property.

7. Partners and the partner directory

We list approved partners — chartered accountants, consultants and resellers — in a public directory at khatazone.com/experts. The following applies both to visitors who find a partner there and to partners who hold a listing.

• Partners are independent. Every partner is a separate, independent business. They are not our employees, agents, representatives or franchisees, and they have no authority to make commitments on our behalf. Nothing on a partner page creates a partnership, joint venture or agency between us.
• We do not supply their services. Any engagement you enter into with a partner — for filing, bookkeeping, setup, training or anything else — is a contract between you and that partner. We are not a party to it, we do not set their fees, and we are not responsible for the quality, timeliness or legality of what they deliver. Fees you pay a partner are separate from any KhataZone subscription.
• What our verification means, and what it does not. Before listing a partner we check their identity and business documents and review the copy on their page. That is a check on who they are, not an endorsement, certification or guarantee of their professional competence, advice or conduct.
• Partners are responsible for their own page. If you hold a listing, you warrant that everything on your page is accurate, is yours to publish, and complies with the law and with the advertising rules of any professional body you belong to — including, for chartered accountants, the ICAI. You must not describe yourself in a way that misrepresents your qualifications or your relationship with us. You grant us a licence to display and promote your page content for as long as it is listed.
• We can remove a listing.We may decline, edit or remove any partner page at any time, with or without notice, including where content is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful or brings the platform into disrepute. A listing is a privilege of the partner programme, not an entitlement of it, and removing one does not affect the partner's wallet balance or their clients' subscriptions.
• Complaints.If a partner page is inaccurate, or you have a complaint about a partner's conduct in connection with KhataZone, write to support@khatazone.com and we will look into it. We can act on the listing; disputes over services a partner has agreed to provide you remain between you and them.

8. Availability & disclaimer

We strive to keep the service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Khata Zone is a tool to assist your record-keeping and does not constitute professional tax, legal or accounting advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Khata Zone and Awani Enterprises shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that may cause harm. On termination, your right to use the service ceases; you may export your data before closure as described in the application.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
